Instructions on how to apply:
Hello potential employee of Mrs. Micha's Child Care, LLC we are excited you are interested in working for us. We are the #1 ranked VPK School in the 7 county area and as a result, we are flooded with college graduate and college student applicants who want to gain experience working for us. I want to let you know now, as best I can, what it means to work here so that you can decide if it is the right fit for you before you do the work it takes to attempt to go any further in the hiring process.
At MMCC we have a high standard of employee excellence. All teacher experience and education will be examined and considered, but most of all we are looking for staff who will be a best-friend to all of our students. Our staff is expected to physically get down to the child’s level, to get dirty along with the children, to respect and protect each individual child and to know the details of every student’s day. Multi-tasking is required for you to: teach through planning and play, look out for everyone’s safety at all times and keep the center clean throughout the day.
It is a hard and sweaty, but very full-filling work that you will love if you have an interest in kids. If you don’t have a strong interest in caring for children, then it wouldn’t be a good fit for you. If you have not yet graduated from college and you are hoping to gain experience as an assistant teacher with us while in school, the State will require that during your first 90 days of childcare work/employment you take the DCF 45+ hours of online childcare training and coursework. This training must be started before your first day and finished by or before your 90th day of employment. Also for college students, our work shifts are generally 8 am to 2 pm or 2 pm to 6 pm. If your college schedule does not permit you to be free to work at least half of these then you may want to apply next semester.
If you are interested, please email me your resume along with the MMCC application, a picture I.D. and your DCF Training Transcript to micha@mmccllc.com. If you would like to drop this off In-Person, please bring it to 1268 F Timberlane Rd. Tallahassee, FL 32312. We are currently conducting an online interview process, However, if you drop everything off in-person, and I am free, I will be able to meet with you for an In-Person Interview. (Best times are between 11am - 2pm) Because it is an interview we know you will be tempted to dress professionally and that is fine. First impressions are important but we would prefer you to also dress down a bit since you will be in a child care setting. We don’t want you wearing clothes that you would be worried about messing up or possibly tripping/falling in. We want you to know that you are comfortable and able to work with children and get down on their level. Please no high heels (Can cause Tripping/falling Hazards) or smelly perfumes (Can trigger Allergy/Asthma Attacks).
*Once Employed - We do have Uniforms that you will wear on a daily basis with either close toes tennis shoes/sneakers or Slip resistant socks/booties for the younger classroom.
*Since to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we have chosen to continue with a Virtual Interview Process. You can drop off or Email your application to micha@mmccllc.com. You can also call to schedule the In-Person or Virtual Interview process.
Please think deeply about this and decide if it is a realistic fit for you. If not thanks for reading this and maybe we will see you as a parent one day. If so, then I will see you soon virtually or in-person and if all goes well then I will send you away with a big stack of State required paperwork for you to fill out and return.
Thank you , Mrs. Micha Sutherland
